Summary

The E-Learning Network is a monthly forum for professionals to learn about and share e-learning technologies and strategies. Archives and files from past meetings and announcements of upcoming events can be found on this site.

History

The E-Learning Network was created by the Corporate Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Lab in 2006 following the first E-Learning Summit held at the University of Memphis.

Since 2006 the E-Learning Network has conducted monthly meetings and seminars on current e-learning topics, with a wide variety of speakers. Expert presenters have come from academic programs, corporations, non-profit organizations, and health-related professions. The E-Learning Network has hosted several virtual presentations with experts from organizations beyond the geographic region. The E-Learning Network occasionally hosts special events such as a recent “SCORM school” day-long workshop.

E-Learning Network participants often recruit colleagues from within their own organizations to attend the monthly meetings. The networking aspect of the meetings has been valuable for students seeking internships and jobs, and for organizations seeking talent. Most of the major corporations in the Memphis area regularly send representatives to the monthly meetings, and this has provided key opportunities for interaction for students and professionals.
